Recording of Land Records
The Circuit Court Clerk’s Office records deeds, deeds of trust, certificates of satisfaction, plat maps, etc. All Documents presented for recordation must be signed and originalnotarized documents. Effective August 1, 2008, all land recordings require a cover sheet to accompany the document to be recorded. A self-addressed stamped envelope is also required.
The Supreme Court of Virginia provides a calculator to assist users with determining recording fees for the documents to be recorded. The website is www.courts.state.va.us. Click on case Information, then click on Deed Calculation and then on Giles Circuit Court.
* Recordings can be made from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
