Probate

A person can die testate (with a Will) or intestate (without a Will). An Executor/Executrix is a person who is named in a Will to oversee an Estate. An Administrator is an heir-at-law that can come in and qualify to oversee the Estate when there is no Will.

If a person dies testate (with a Will), the person named in the Will as Executor/Executrix to probate (put to record) must provide to the Clerk:

State tax - $1.00 per $1000 of total estate value|
Record Will- $16.00
Record List of Heirs- $16.00
Real Estate transfer fee- $1.00
